The kind of wedding ceremony you’ll have is totally up to you. Here are a few examples:
- Ring ceremony: this is the most common ceremony when one or both participants offer a ring.
- Hand-fasting ceremony, or “tying the knot”: This can be done with or without a ring ceremony. Wedding vows are secured by wrapping or tying the participants hands in ribbons, bows, paper strips or anything meaningful to the couple.
- Rose or candle ceremony: flowers are exchanged or candles lit to signify the exchange of vows.
- Jumping over a broom: this one is pretty old school. Jumping over a broom symbolizes entering into the state of matrimony.
Your ceremony should be as unique as your relationship. I’ll write a ceremony just for you. I can help you write your vows. Even if you are eloping, your ceremony deserves to be special.
Most importantly, your wedding ceremony should not be stressful. It should be an occasion filled with lightness and love. My goal is to take the stress out of the ceremony, whether it is just the two of you or you’ve invited 500 of your closest friends.
