Officially known as handfasting, this ritual has roots in Ireland
and England, and is commonly used outside of the Church. In
this ceremony, the couple joins hands and as each vow is
proclaimed, a string, ribbon or cord is wrapped around their
joined hands. My favorite, this ceremony encourages the
couple to provide physical pieces of their relationship history to
create the ties that bind. Handfasting works very well with or
without wedding rings.
In addition to the exchange of rings and vows, this ceremony
incorporates the lighting of candles or the sharing of wine by
the bride and groom.
The broom is a symbol of home, hearth and family, as well as
a threshhold of a new life. Most commonly seen in
African-American or Pagan weddings, after the handfasting or
exchange or rings, the newly wedding couple jumps over the
broom to symbolize their new life together.

Although same sex marriages are
not recognized by the State of
Georgia yet, we can work together to
create a ceremony that will unite
two loving souls in their hearts and
the hearts of their loved ones.
...a few different ceremonies which I recommend, all of which can be tailored to make them your very
own. We can combine and incorporate different elements and further add to the service with readings by
friends and family if you wish.
This is the traditional ceremony where the bride and groom
exchange vows and exchange rings.I can provide the vows or
